First we have 2 ranges of batteries:
- carbon
- alkaline

The 2nd option, the most popular, are alkaline batteries and again there are several qualities! a standard battery will be good for a smoke or carbon monoxide detector, food devices (scales etc.), pharmaceutical devices (thermometer, diabetes etc.) and for a lifespan of 6 months to 2 years depending on use ! You will find this range in stores around $3+
The 3rd option, premium alkaline batteries such as Energizer, Duracell, not to name them! These batteries are ideal for increased use such as children's toys, battery tools, electric shaver etc. these are more expensive to purchase but can hold a charge for up to 5 years with use and 10 years when stored in a dry place and away from magnetic items. This range will be in the $5 + purchase
